Dirty Kanza will be the 5th annual event of a CrankTank’s Impact series. Previously held twice in Kona, Hawaii around the Ironman event, and twice in Sun Valley, Idaho, this year the media event is moving to Emporia, Kansas.
Impact Kanza will take place the evening of May 27th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm and will include top media, top cycling brands, senior leadership and some famous VIP athletes from around the world. This opening event will kick off before the Expo which starts on May 28th and May 29th. Then the ride/race will start thereafter.
CrankTank Founder and President Scott Montgomery said, “With the demise of the Tour of California, we are seeing top road brands migrating athletes to DK. This will mean that the start line will include famous riders from around the world mixing with the rank and file DK consumers like myself. We are certainly going to see strong attendance to our event and Ben Pickel of Life Time will surely sell out the entire Expo area with approximately 50% more booth spaces than in 2019.”
In addition, for the first time we are seeing an event get close to the dominance Sea Otter has seen in North America. With the growth of gravel riding we can only expect more innovation and more brands jumping into this lucrative segment which is picking up the slack created from softening road sales.
Confirmed brands include Moots Cycles, BMC Bikes, 3T Bikes, Rudy Project, Light & Motion, 7Mesh, Showers Pass, Rotor, Suntour, Kinekt, and Challenge tires. A limited supply of spaces are still open and will wrap up with the selling out of the Expo expected by the end of February based on the current sell-through rate.
